Good afternoon, we wanted to post a quick PSA for our followers based on what we’re hearing today. The NYS burn ban goes into effect next week on the 16th, to s...ome people this means, I need to burn everything I can before then. However, the burn ban is put into effect because of high fire risk conditions, this does not mean brush fires don’t happen before this date. There’s an old saying that goes, Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Today is optimal fire conditions, dry, slight breeze, low humidity, it’s not hard for a fire to take off. If you feel the need to burn today, be safe, be prepared, and have extinguishment tools at the ready such as a hose and rakes. While the burn ban has not yet taken place, the risk of brush fires getting out of control is very much here. Thank you and be safe. See more

We recently had a possible COVID exposure at Station 1 and in order to put all our minds at ease we decided to have the building cleaned and sanitized. Called PuroClean and within a few hours they had responded with a crew and completed the cleaning. This was on Saturday. We couldn’t be more pleased with this service.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Watertown FD and the family of the recruit firefighter who suffered a medical emergency while in training at the Fire Academy.

Avoid Route 32 in the area of Vestal Hills Dr in East Kingston. Large concrete block partially blocking the roadway.

"The Squad 51 rescue Dodge truck was built by the Universal props department to specs provided to them by the Los Angeles County Fire Department. They did such... a good job that there was no need to upgrade it's look, as was not the case with Engine 51 from the Crown to the Ward La France. So, this was basically why the Squad never changed its appearance throughout the series. Plus, LACoFD was frequently using the Wards more, and EMERGENCY producers wanted to keep as up to date as possible with nearly everything, which I think is the reason EMERGENCY is so revered and regarded, even today, some nearly 50 years later!" -Kevin Tighe, 8/2020

2020 Christmas The East Kingston FD will be escorting Santa to Firemen’s Field on Main St. at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 19. There will be activities and gifts for children under 12 years. Hot chocolate for everyone. Drive by with the kids and we will come to the car or you may stop in.
