Congratulations to JOSH MARRERO on earning the 2020 Empire Softball Pitcher of the Year Award! Few players come to the field every night with the same competitiveness, passion and intensity as Josh does, while at the same time holding himself to a high standard of camaraderie and sportsmanship with his teammates and opponents. In 2020, Josh racked up more wins than any other pitcher in Empire, across his multiple mens and coed teams. He has worked so hard to improve his pitch...ing skills over the last few years, which has had an enormous impact on the success of every team he plays for. Congrats Josh! Congratulations to GIO JIMENEZ on earning the 2020 Male MVP for Coed! What else can be said about a guy that bats over .900 on multiple coed league teams in both summer and fall this past year? Gio is also the only player in the league to earn a Triple Crown award this Fall, with the highest batting average as well as most home runs and RBIs in a division playing Sunday nights for the Lindenhurst Brewers. ... Congratulations to KAYLA PARISI on earning the MVP of the 2020 Womens League! In addition to being a standout in the regular season on the Swinging Singles team, Kayla had a batting average just shy of .900 over the playoffs to help earn the team a League Championship. Congratulations to GQ ... GINA QUARTARARO on winning the 2020 Coed Female MVP Award! Everyone knows GQ, and to say this award is a long time coming is an understatement. Her passion for her teams and the sport is matched by few. This past Fall, Gina became the first female in Empire history to lead a coed team (male or female) in every offensive category, as well as pitching for the team. Great News ... Baseball Heaven has been officially confirmed for us to start to play ball next month! ** Our USSSA Opening Day Tournament for Mens, Coed and Women will take place on the weekend of March 13-14th. ** Our 6-week Extended Spring League will begin on Monday, March 22nd! Full Details will be posted and Priority Registration for teams will begin next Monday. ... Spring is right around the corner, and we are very excited to get back out on the fields. Empire will offer both recreational and competitive leagues for your mens, womens and coed teams at Baseball Heaven as well as in Brookhaven, Riverhead and Islip.
