Let us never forget, on this day, 19 years ago: 246 people went to sleep, knowing they had a flight in the morning. 2,606 people went to sleep in preparation for work in the morning. 343 firefighters went to sleep knowing they might fight a fire and save a life the next day. 60 police officers went to sleep in preparation for morning patrol.... 8 paramedics went to sleep before their morning shift. None of them saw past 9:59am on Sept 11, 2001. In one single moment, life would never be the same for thousands of Americans, foreigners visiting America, their families, friends, and strangers. Still to this day, thousands of people have become sick and/or died after September 11th due to illness. Never forget, always be proud to be an American, living in the land of the free. God bless all first responders, armed forces, and health care workers. God bless all the sick. God bless those who perished. God bless their families and friends. #AlwaysRemember #NeverForget #september11th See more

Early this month, Emergency Service Unit Police Officers Brady and Alaimo were patrolling the area of Dunwoodie Golf Course and noticed a vehicle running with a... male occupant inside. He was found to be unresponsive with shallow respiration and a weak pulse. It was unknown how long he had been there. ESU Officers Martirano and Allison arrived on scene and assisted with medical treatments where he was brought into Empress Emergency Medical Services Ambulance - Medic 33 (Paramedic Rivera / EMT Cabbagestalk). Once inside, the male stopped breathing and went into a full cardiac arrest. Assigned officers began CPR and ventilated him with high flow oxygen. Officers initiated advanced medical interventions including respiratory intubation to the patient. After approximately five minutes of CPR and medical treatments, the male regained strong pulses and began to breath on his own. He was taken to Lawrence Hospital for further evaluation. Two weeks later he was discharged and will make a full recovery! Fantastic job by #YonkersPD ESU and Empress!! The City of Yonkers See more
