#Excision of #Endometrioma if performed by competent and knowledgeable surgeons is safe. #AMH levels may drop temporarily but have been shown to recover. In very selected cases and mostly for patients who are planning fertility treatments , Ethanol Sclerotherapy is an option. This is based on recent study out of Italy . They showed a 10% recurrence at 31 months , which is much much higher than excision surgery for endometrioma by an expert surgeon. In our hands about 1%for ...endometriomas. So this is an option for somebody who is concerned about ovarian reserve and is accepting of the fact that they may need a repeat surgery after fertility problems are solved.
