"This Easter, though there is much work to be done and while we still mourn everything and everyone we lost this past year, I feel profoundly grateful for the resilience and grace of all those whose faith and prayers helped us see the possibility of new life." https://www.newsday.com//episcopal-bishop-lawrence-provenz

Our work goes on. Our labor for love continues, Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop and Primate Michael B. Curry said in his Easter 2021 Message, We will not cease, and we will not give up until this world reflects less our nightmare and more God’s dream where there’s plenty good room for all God’s children. Hallelujah anyhow.

Zion Episcopal Church, Douglaston has partnered with the non-profit RIP Medical Debt in a campaign to forgive $1,000,000 in medical bills weighing on the most vulnerable. By partnering with RIP Medical Debt, Zion will be able to purchase the medical debt of those who are most burdened by itfor a penny on the dollar. The church will then forgive that debt as an expression of their faith that grace triumphs over greed and that love overcomes the forces of death. https://www.dioceseli.org//zion-episcopal-church-aims-to-f

During this time of the COVID-19 pandemic, I continue to pray for all affected by this virus in any way. At this particular moment, I ask that all Episcopalians also pray for the president and first lady, and all in the White House or government who have been infected by this virus. O God of heavenly powers, by the might of your command you drive away from our bodies all sickness and all infirmity: Be present in your goodness with your children, the president and first lady, ...and all in the White House or government who have been infected by this virus, that their weakness may be banished and their strength restored; and that, their health being renewed, they may bless your holy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. For Recovery from Sickness, Book of Common Prayer, p. 458 The Most Rev. Michael B. Curry Presiding Bishop and Primate The Episcopal Church

In partnership with New York City, The Episcopal Church of St. Alban the Martyr, Queens, N.Y. opens today as a COVID-19 testing site with capacity for up to 200 tests per day. Healing the sick and soothing the suffering is a central tenet of the Christian Faith and through partnering with NYC Test & Trace Corps to provide space for free testing to our community is one way we live and activate this belief, said Father Keith Voets, Episcopal Church of St. Alban the Martyr. We are immensely grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in this way as we continue to pray for relief from this unprecedented pandemic. As Christians we are called to live in a state of hope, and I find great hope in this partnership for New Yorkers. https://www.nychealthandhospitals.org//test-trace-corps-a/

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital (SJEH) is seeking donations to go towards the purchase of equipment for its new Women’s Health Center that is scheduled to open in 2021. SJEH intended to raise funds at its annual golf event that was to occur this summer, but the event was canceled because of the pandemic. The hospital is accepting donations on its website, ehs.org/givenow, and is running a series of fundraisers via social media and email. We invite anyone to make a donation on the website, said Nancy Leghart, Director of Foundation. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated and will go directly toward purchasing essential, life-saving equipment. https://ehs.org//news/2020/womens-health-center-fundraising

"Delaware Bishop Kevin Brown said bishops in his discussion group expressed 'a strong reluctance to be going anywhere near virtual Eucharist.' Fond du Lac Bishop Matthew Gunter said he was open to a really good conversation about virtual Communion but didn’t think it was appropriate to encourage congregations to experiment. Such an approach 'could quickly get out of control and do some significant damage,' Long Island Bishop Lawrence Provenzano said. 'This was feeling like an attempt at a long-term change in sacramental theology for what we are experiencing as the short-term shifts that have had to happen because of the pandemic.'"

The online services were nice, but being here in person and seeing other people and experiencing the moment in that way, it’s hard to explain but it’s a different feeling, Keith Okrosy, 41, said. https://www.newsday.com//episcopal-cathedral-of-the-incarn
