Today The Episcopal Church calendar commemorates Oscar Romero, Archbishop of San Salvador and Martyr and the Martyrs of El Salvador, (d. 1980.) Almighty God, you called your servant Óscar Romero to be a voice for the voiceless poor, and to give his life as a seed of freedom and a sign of hope: Grant that, inspired by his sacrice and the example of the martyrs of El Salvador, we may without fear or favor witness to your Word who abides, your Word who is Life, even Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be praise and glory now and for ever. Amen.

We pray for all those who've been affected by Tropical Depression Eta and those who are bracing for its arrival. May God strengthen and comfort those who've been evacuated from their homes and communities and may those who have lost their lives rest in peace and rise in glory.

On October 24th, 2020, the United Nations will commemorate its 75th anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter, signifying the official founding of the United Nations. The day is officially known as United Nations Day. To mark the occasion, Presiding Bishop Curry invites Episcopalians to join him on Sunday, October 25th, in praying the Prayer for Peace Among the Nations as a prayer of solidarity while the world continues to work towards peace, justi...ce, human rights and the full development and dignity of all peoples living in harmony with each other, our planet and its creatures. Watch the Presiding Bishop's video message above, and join the Presiding Bishop in the prayer: Almighty God, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer for Peace Among the Nations, Book of Common Prayer, p. 816

The Task Force to Develop Model Anti-Sexual Harassment Policies & Safe Church Training is looking for Episcopalians interested in participating in Listening Groups related to the development of new and updated Safe Church (formerly called Safeguarding) training materials and approaches. The purpose of the listening sessions is to ensure the diversity of voices within our church is represented in the topics, training methods, and personal stories in each training area. To achieve this diversity of voices, the Task Force invites those interested in participating to complete a demographic survey. The data provided will be used to set up listening groups with the goal of reflecting a true representation of The Episcopal Church.
