Lexi has gained a ton of confidence since she started coming to our therapeutic riding program, as well as boosted her listening and social skills. She loves spending time with the horses and is told by many that she is a true horsewoman. Lexi also loves the EquiCenter staff, especially her instructor Courtney. Dentals! Since horses chew in a side to side motion, it is extremely important to check their teeth. Horses can have other issues such as loose teeth or infection that we humans may not see, dentals allow us to see very clearly in their mouths!

We're LIVE for Evening Yoga with Stacy! This session focuses on supta padangusthasana. Also known as reclining hand-to-big-toe pose, this pose is a great stretch for the thighs, hips, hamstrings, calves, and back. Here's what you might want for this yoga session: a mat, a strap (belt, tie, or scarf), a bolster (pillow or cushion), 2 blocks, and 1 blanket (towel). All are welcome. Last evening, the dangers and sacrifice which members of the military face every day hit close to home. We are saddened by the loss of three local National Guard members who lost their lives in a tragic helicopter accident. Our hearts go out to their families.

Proud EquiCenter Moment! We started Mission Mustang with two goals. The first, to help veterans heal. The second, to gentle wild mustangs. Little did we know that one of the original four mustangs that bolted off the trailer in May of 2018 would go beyond our expectations and become a therapy horse here at EquiCenter! Ranger has always been a quick learner. The more our veterans, mustang trainers, and staff worked with him, the more affectionate he became toward humans. We ...started to entertain the possibility that he could join our herd on a whole new level. Since graduating from Mission Mustang, our staff has continued to work with him to finesse his riding skills as well as desensitize him to different props, sounds, and movement on his back. He is a very willing horse, and this past week, he made EquiCenter history: He taught his first lesson with one of our therapeutic riding participants! Steven Stevens, Director of Equine Programs, was excited to give his first official Mission Mustang program session today. He had the opportunity to work with veteran Jared and the black gelding who has not been caught yet. Mission Mustang teams up wild mustangs and veterans, designed to improve the health and well being of veterans.
