August 20th proved to be a beautiful Catskill Mountain Day for a visit to the Museum by the Living History Education Foundation. They are a group of local educators who were taking a class on railroads and the civil war sponsored by Historical Expeditions and Robert Buccheri. Museum Curator, Tom Comito, led them on wonderfully history-filled tour of the Museum and Catskill Mountain railroading. Did you know that the Ulster & Delaware Railroad was the only one that traversed the entire Catskill Mountain Park from East to West?

Empire State Railway Museum has reopened with new guidelines. The Entrance is now on West End of Platform with the Exit on the East End to allow for one-way traffic through Museum to ensure social distancing. Entrance has a sign-in station with mandatory Hand Sanitizing and Guest Sign-in. Masks must be worn on platform and inside the Museum. Only 4-5 people will be allowed in the Museum at a time with others waiting outside six feet apart. We're doing our part to stop the spread, please do yours.

The 2020 Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show is Jan. 25 & 26 and we'll be there again this year in the Mallory Building Section 139. Come on by and say hello if you go to the show. ESRM will have a table at the Great Train Extravaganza on December 1 at the Empire State Convention Center in Albany. We don't have our exact location yet but come on in and enjoy the many working model train displays and stop by our table and say hello! We will have some item from our collection on display.

ESRM 22020 Railroad Calendars! Now on Sale at the Nest Egg on Main Street in Phoenicia. The Nest Egg in 1940 is one of the historic railroad images that can be found in the calendar. All photos in calendar are from John Ham's collection.
