It is a fantastic weekend filled with lots of sunshine and blue skies. If you are heading to the beach or the pool, remember to bring along a set of silicone ear plugs. By using them, you decrease the amount of water/moisture in your ears and you can ward off outer ear infections (aka otitis externa). I am seeing so many ENT patients in Long Beach, NY who are suffering from this problem. With a few simple steps, you can avoid this troublesome issue and enjoy the Long Beach surf!

Happy 4th of July! We hope have a wonderful day and take time to give thanks for the incredible freedoms we enjoy in the United States. If you are heading out to see fireworks, remember to bring ear plugs to dampen the noise. Fireworks can produce a sound output up to 175 decibels. It is bone chilling weather in the Northeast. If your nose feels irritated or you experience a burning sensation when you inhale, it is likely nasal dryness.
