We are hiring an Investigator for our brand new Ithaca NY Office. The Investigator will conduct background checks on applicants for employment, collect specimens for drug testing and collect fingerprints. This position requires sitting for long periods of time behind a computer. Background Checks Investigations Investigators will manage multiple background check requests on a daily basis. Investigators will use appropriate investigative techniques learned during training to c...ollect, review, interpret, and analyze facts developed during the employment screening process. Investigators will verify previous employment history, reference and degree verification's. Drug Test Collections Investigators will provide information and overall assistance to clients regarding laboratory specimen procedures and collection. Collections may be done in our office or on-site at various employers. The ability to work on-call hours is a must. Fingerprint Scan Investigators will electronically capture fingerprints for submission to specific organizations and agencies. The Investigator will meet and greet clients and explain the fingerprint process, and follow all security measures. Investigators will work in a team environment as part of a professional office setting. Phone, computer and grammar skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, customer service skills, and a friendly demeanor. There is potential for growth opportunities, leadership positions and management. There will be reviews at 30, 60, and 90 working days, with potential for more compensation. Applicants who are offered a position will be required to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test. Compensation depends on education and work experience. Starting pay ranges from $13 - $15 an hour plus incentives! Incentives may exceed $35 a week. FMCSA RULE CHANGE Effective January 1, 2020 Announcement... Starting January 1st 2020 The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is doubling the minimum annual percentage rate for random controlled substance testing for commercial motor vehicle drivers, from 25% to 50% percent, Effective Jan. 1, 2020 in response to rising positive drug-testing rates nationally. In a Dec. 27 Federal Register Notice, the agency explained that the 2018 FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing Survey showed the positive rate for controlled substances random testing increased to 1%. DOT regulations require FMCSA to increase the random-testing rate when the data for any calendar year shows a reported positive of 1% or more. For 2016 and 2017, the positive rate was estimated to be 0.7% and 0.8%, respectively. FMCSA Testing History The minimum drug-testing rate was 50% from the start of the DOT testing program in 1995 until 2015. FMCSA reduced it to 25% starting Jan. 1, 2016, based on two consecutive years of testing data (2013-2014) that showed a positive rate of less than 1%. The minimum annual percentage rate for random alcohol testing will remain at 10%. Please share so we can find the rightful owner!!! Today one of our employees found a cell phone on Robinson Street on the east side of Binghamton. The screen is cracked but it is still receiving calls and could be used to retrieve any data that the owner needs. The only thing that we know for sure is that it is T-Mobile service.
