Wednesday, January 20th, 2021...Today we get to witness the peaceful transfer of power from one presidential administration to the next. This process is one of the things that makes America the envy of many of the world's people; we should not take it for granted. Anyway, there are new comic books to talk about... It's week #3 of DC Comics' "Future State" project; come experience the future of Catwoman, the Immortal Wonder Woman, Nightwing, Shazam and Superman. There's also... the final issue of DCEASED: DEAD PLANET and the second issue of BATMAN/ CATWOMAN. In contrast, Marvel Comics has only one title that ties into their "King in Black" event (BLACK CAT #2) but they do have two new launches; IRON FIST: HEART OF THE DRAGON #1 (of 6) and MAESTRO: WAR & PAX #1 (of 5.) Also back in print this week is the venerable graphic novel X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Oni Press has one comic this week (RICK & MORTY EVER AFTER #4) but three books; RICK & MORTY Vol. 12, DRYAD Vol. 1 and TO DRINK TO EAT Hardcover Vol. 2. Boom Studios has a sequel series on their hands with ABBOTT 1973 #1 (of 5.) Aftershock Comics has a new horror series with I BREATH A BODY #1, by writer Cullen Bunn and artist Andy MacDonald. Dark Horse Comics launches CRIMSON FLOWER #1 this week, and Image Comics has a new limited series with RAIN LIKE HAMMERS #1 (of 5.) There are new installments of many titles, limited and ongoing, plus trade collections and original graphic novels (mostly for young readers, but not exclusively.) There are new Manga volumes from Viz Media, Seven Seas Entertainment and others. So make your way through the modest newly fallen snow and come see us. Pictures below.

Wednesday, January 13th, 2021...Comics continue to arrive, undaunted by the news of the day. DC Comics enters week 2 of their Future State project with the first issues of seven new mini series; DARK DETECTIVE, GREEN LANTERN, JUSTICE LEAGUE, KARA ZOR-EL SUPERWOMAN, ROBIN ETERNAL, SUPERMAN/ WONDER WOMAN and TEEN TITANS. There's also a new young readers' graphic novel, WE FOUND A MONSTER. Marvel Comics has three new mini series launching this week all tied to their "King in ...Black" event; GWENOM VS. CARNAGE, PLANET OF THE SYMBIOTES and THUNDERBOLTS. There's a nice tribute to a writer who kind of made Marvel Comics in the 1980s and '90s with the CHRIS CLAREMONT ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL #1. Image Comics has a new anthology series that focuses on the lives of clowns with HAHA #1. Dynamite Entertainment launches RED SONJA: THE SUPERPOWERS #1, a companion series to their VAMPIRELLA: DARK POWERS title. Abstract Studios has a new series from Terry Moore set in his "Strangers in Paradise" world with the ominously titled SERIAL #1. Plus there are entries in ongoing series from Vault Comics, Boom Studios and Dark Horse Comics and others, there's new manga from Viz Media L.L.C. and Seven Seas Entertainment, a new graphic history of the Black Panther Party, and from Funko a new oversized Pop figure of King Deadpool, from the current run of that title.
