Hey all! We're hiring a part time craft assistant to help us keep up with seed paper orders for our Plantables and Paper etsy shop. I'm working 16+ hour days right now and need help!

Both boys stepping up to help today since daddy can't do heavy lifting yet post surgery. Shoveling the millings left over from melted snow piles to fill in driveway pot holes. Joey (5) is in charge of the shoveling and Charlie (9) is working the wheelbarrow. #farminpeace2021

Interested in joining cub scouts? (Springville and surrounding areas) The meeting for the Cub Scout Pack 59’s ‘Bear Den’ (3rd graders) is today, October 20, at Peace of the Pie in Collins (2311 Main Street Collins) from 6-7pm. Today’s meeting is ‘A Bear Picnic’ we’ll be making nutritious snacks, learning kitchen safety and sanitation, and decorating some cookies! The next 2 meetings- 10/27 + 11/3 we’ll be learning knife safety carving pumpkins on 10/27 and then making a... soap carving with a butter knife on 11/3 Please message me directly if you’d like more information (for any grade level -I’ll forward your info to the appropriate den so they can contact you) Due to Covid, we’re unable to meet as a whole cub scout pack, so each small den is setting their own meeting places and times. Masks required for indoor meetings. Parents required to stay for meeting. Contact tracing forms/questionnaire will be completed for each meeting. If you wanted to order pies, cookies, etc from Peace of the Pie for Thanksgiving, orders need to be in by end of day on Saturday 11/21!

Squashes available at the farm!! We didn't think we'd get time to harvest the bulk of these this year with our renovations still going on at Peace of the Pie, but my parents came this morning to help get this done. (Thanks mom and dad!!) Farm stand is free will donation payment. Take what you need, pay what you can, or pass on a kind deed in exchange. Pie pumpkins are the smaller pumpkins in the pile closer to the road. Other pile were a different type more for carving, but t...hey didn't get too big this year. Also have butternut squash, small acorn squash and garlic. Suggested donations are couple bucks for pumpkins, $2 for larger butternut. And acorn maybe 2 for $1. Garlic suggested at $1 per bulb. So its Halloween month...and we still have Niagara chocolate bars to sell for Charlie's cub scout pack 59. I have about 20 boxes left, and we're selling them for a discounted $35 per sealed box of 50 assorted candy bars. It's been a crazy year, who wants to give out full size candy bars for Halloween while also supporting the cub scouts? If you have specific flavor requests, then each bar is $1.

Peace of the Pie will be undergoing some renovations and new indoor paint job, so we'll need to close for a weekend to get it all done!

High tunnel progress! The crew putting these up is squeezing us in, so they are coming on Saturdays when they can. Excited for 2021! Farm in Peace CSA returning and we'll be hiring farm hands in the spring.

KALE AND SWISS CHARD U-PICK! Free will donation Farm in Peace is wrapping up for the season. LOTS of kale and swiss chard left. It's in the ground to the right of our stand. Please come pick all you want. No special tools needed, stems snap off. We'd like to turn this bed over next week so whatever is left will be plowed under. Would like it to go to use!
