#blackhistorymonth The Quilts od Gee's Bend was a show i saw 20 years ago? Or so? This isolated group of Gee's Bend women told their stories to their generations of family through making extraordinary #handmadequilts. Scraps of fabric reused to form these quilts to keep warm. One would say they were #upcycling but more than an object, it allowed the women to gather and form quilting circles, sharing stories to each other, keeping company with each other. I hope all will take a moment to look into their stories, their work, and their unique legacy. I will cherish this book on the exhibition always.
