Ranger update sponsored by JSA investments. The DEC reports that Coyote breeding season extends into March and that the pups being born in early spring. Mom and Dad will be working hard to feed t pups. An Edgar Beaver in Rhinebeck chewed down a huge tree by the Baptist Home.

Ranger update sponsored by Keil Equipment. The parking lot expansion is waiting for estimates to come in and we have submitted to Grant request To cover part of the cost of the project. The ice is out on the pond so bring you fishing poles. Ice fisherman had a good catch this winter.

Please support our sponsors who keep the Forest Free for all to use. 2020 saw more than 20,000 visitor at Ferncliff Forest. We also issued more camping permits than ever before. We have a approve plan to add the Woodland parking lot to the north of the Meadow parking lot which will be redone with marked parking spots. We most get this done soon because street parking is very dangerous on Mt Rutsen Rd. Thanks to our Turkey Trot we have a little money to start this winter on the Woodland Parking. I am happy to announce that the Rhinebeck town planning board has approved our plan to make a additional parking area, which will be called the Woodland parking area. This will be quite expensive so we will be starting a capital campaign to raise the funds to complete this project. You will be hearing more about that plan in the near future.
