A very special THANK YOU to some of our local Girl Scouts! They donated their 2020 cookie sale money to Christmas Cheer. Over the weekend they collected gifts for a family in need and presented Mrs. Thompson with a monetary donation. We are so grateful to you! You have huge hearts and you are all #BraveStrong The troop includes Rylan & Reese Aiken, Ella & Lilly Buanno, Laine Buanno, Kennedy & Reagan Cuddy, Lila and Gianna DiNatale, Olivia Flood, Julianna, Madilyn & Avalon Forbes, Maizy Hine, Allison, Leah & MaryKate Newkirk, Maddy and Lilly Paraskeva, Alana Robbins, Stella Siddon, Lianna Thum, Olivia Walton, Molly & Callie Young, with troop leaders Krysten Forbes and Rebecca Newkirk.

Our second graders brought their learning to life in a hands-on project that got them away from their computer screens during the remote learning portion of their hybrid instruction. The students created dioramas of animal habitats that brought together research, digital literacy and reading and writing skills that they developed during their in-person classes. We are overwhelmed with gratitude to the Town of Mohawk Fire Department and their generous donation of $1,000 to Christmas Cheer during our ziti dinner fundraiser. This donation comes from the department's own fundraising for its annual holiday party, which they decided to forgo this year and instead make a donation. "We felt it was only right to keep the money right here in our community, and what better cause than Christmas Cheer," Chaplain Thomas Flander said. Christmas Ch...eer is FFCS’s longstanding community support program. Through donations and fundraising, the program helps families in need. "We are incredibly thankful for the support from the fire department and its members, and everyone in our community who helped make our event a success," Christmas Cheer coordinator and FFCS teacher Holly Thompson said. "We do everything we can to support our community not only during the holidays, but all year long. These are uncertain times. We want our community to know if they need a helping hand, we are here for you." Please join us in thanking the fire department, and everyone who participated in our fundraiser.
