Due to the possibility of heavy snow and the likelihood of gale force winds, passenger and freight service has been suspended for Thursday, Dec. 17th. Service is anticipated to resume Friday, Dec. 18th with the 7am trip. Please check back again for more updates and schedule changes.

Due to predicted high winds Monday, 11/30/2020, the 3:30pm trip to Fire Island and all its return trips have been suspended. Service is expected to resume Tuesday at 7:00am. Please continue to monitor our website for all service updates.

This morning feels like fall but this afternoon will feel like summer

Fire Island Ferries will be having a film production team on property from Saturday, September 12th through Monday, September 14th filming a short film. We are working closely with the production team to ensure that there is minimal inconveniences to our passengers and no interruptions to our daily service as scheduled. We thank you for your cooperation.

Traditionally, the Tuesday after Labor Day is the last day of our Summer schedule. Keeping this in mind, Fire Island Ferries wishes to thank all our staff, crew, and captains for their hard work and dedication during this particularly challenging year. We greatly appreciate your ability to adapt to new procedures while still providing a safe and welcoming service to and from Fire Island. Thank you to all our passengers for adapting with us. We acknowledge the difficulties ...some of the new policies created and appreciate the feedback (both positive and negative) that we received from you. We met the challenge of Summer 2020/ COVID-19 together and though not perfect we did our best to pull off another Fire Island Summer. We do not know what the Fall will bring us, but we will continue to work hard and meet the ridership demands of the "new normal."
