FDNY Lt. and United States Air Force Master Sgt. Christopher Raguso describes the rescue of individuals in Houston following Hurricane Harvey in 2017. Lt. Ragus...o was operating as a member of U.S. Air Force 106th Rescue Wing, New York Air National Guard, on a team that rescued more than 100 people, and included FDNY Firefighter Joe Napolitano. Today, FDNY honored Lt. Raguso with a plaque dedication ceremony. Lt. Raguso died alongside FDNY Fire Marshal Christopher Zanetis and five other military service members, while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. Lt. Raguso and Fire Marshal Zanetis were assigned to the 106th Rescue Wing at the Francis S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base in New York. See more

When you get hired onto the WPFD, there is one address that resonates through the fire houses, and you become immediately familiar with it as a young firefighte...r. 235 South Lexington Ave, across the street from Station 4, and a building frequently responded to, it is more significantly the building where our brother Warren Ogburn died fighting a fire 25 years ago today. The wind driven high rise fire was an enormous undertaking for all men involved, and ultimately led to Brother Ogburn’s death as well as 3 firefighters severely burned. We honor his sacrifice and remember him in our thoughts today and always. See more
