I can't breathe! COVID-19 can affect some people's lungs and respiratory tract more than others leaving symptoms after the virus is no longer contagious in their bodies. I noticed that I was out of breath with walking and when I ran it felt like my chest was going to explode. Sometimes out of nowhere I would gasp for air because my chest was tight. February is National Heart Awareness Month. During this month, there are so many discussions about cardiovascular disease which are diseases that affect blood vessels and the heart. Heart disease is the number one cause of death for women in the United States followed by cancer!! This year, I challenge each of us to view our cardiovascular health differently. Little did we know in February 2020 how much change and stress we were about to undergo not just personally but on ...a world wide level. During this ongoing #COVID-19 Pandemic, over 440,000 people were killed, relationships were severed, jobs lost, domestic violence increased, weight was gained and the list can go on and on. What were the healthy changes that you started during the pandemic that made you fit - mentallty, physically, spiritually or sexually ? Please share one thing that you did like learning to cook healthier or a toxic relationship that you ended or how you made a mindset shift to become healthier. The change for me was spending more time with @nxlevelbball, @marcuskershaww and @skersh31 exercising and talking about anything and everything - nothing is off limits. I also enjoyed more beach time with @cbwyabds, exercising with the #FitCrew and learning to swim in the open water thanks to @dd_fitspiration and coaches from @merrickbicyclestriteam . Five years ago today, @ashleigh.davis.376 and I ran our first #TCSNYCMarathon and we celebrated with a 20 mile bike ride after I had done a 3.1 mile walk with @d_a_coffin. It started raining on the the way back so I have to ask @coach_jaxs if that counts as a triathalon!! I was soaked from head to toe! Roll call !!! Who is up for November's #FitDocChallenge?? Let's plank it out for the month and work our upper body and core strength.

I love exercising in the morning but when it is dark o'clock my body struggles to get out the door. Usually, I am calling @dbmediamaven to meet her as we train for life together but today she called me first!! My bed was definitely holding my captive especially my new pillows. Feeling amazing now after 4 1/2 miles of walking and sprinting together on a crisp fall morning.
