So I posted this in my stories this morning and I ended up having several people chime in so thought I’d make a post. Now this statement could apply to life, business, or in it’s simplest terms for actual movement and exercise. Simply moving weight around or doing activity doesn’t necessarily mean results are just going to follow. ... For example mindset around everything is huge. I don’t care how you motivate yourself but please please don’t use punishment, shame, or self judgement. For example I’m fat and ugly and ate cake so I’m going to punish myself with a workout. Don’t berate yourself! Not only is this not true it doesn’t work and it can actually alter the effects of your progress and workouts. On the opposite spectrum, POSTIVE reinforcement and motivation can actually produce results. i’ve talked about this before & I preach this to my children daily, but be careful the story you tell yourself because it’ll most likely come true. Don’t believe me? Well a couple studies says I’m right! (Quick synopsis) Harvard did a study with hotel maids in 2007 across 6 or 7 hotels who did little to no exercise. They told one group the work they did was incredible exercise and even qualified for the recommended daily amount. The other group they said nothing. Four weeks later the group who received the positive health message but didn’t change a THING had lower weight, blood pressure, body fat, BMI & more! Study 2: At the Cleveland clinic researchers found that people who imagined flexing their biceps five times a week for 12 weeks showed a 13.5 percent increase in muscle strength....the crazy part?!! The power of muscular thinking lasted for three months after the subjects stopped the mental training. The point?!? You have to believe it. Don’t just move aimlessly. This applies to all things not just working out. But be careful the words you tell yourself and others(especially privately) It can change the coarse of life positively or negatively!! so I’m gonna say it again for the people in the back move with intention and even deep concentration at times. #2021goals #bemore #thestory #intention
