25 yrs ago i took a 2 week vacation to Texas and when I returned I was swamped with business. It took me 2 weeks of 10 hour days to catch up. This type of loyalty to your barber is not happening in 2021. The corrupt politics, cancel culture attacks, Blm riots, and the covid 19 pandemic has contributed to a change in the morality in the American people. Jesus asked the question " When the son of man comes will he find faith on the earth." We are living in a time where th...e Christian foundation of our nation has been eroded to a dangerously low level. to use a fighting analogy of public discourse the gloves have been taken off. The Bible predicts a "falling away" or a back sliding of the Church and says that " darkness shall cover the earth and strong deception will effect its populace prior to the coming "Great tribulation". I have been a Bible student since 1978 and have seen this coming and have told many of the impending judgement predicted in the Bible. You can choose to write me off as a religious fanatic or just wait and watch it on the news. See more

Welcome to 2021. A new year has begun. I pray daily that God will help our nation to continue with "liberty and justice for all" even though a lot of criminals in our government are not getting the justice they deserve.

Happy New Year to all my loyal customers and their family. I pray 2021 will be a comeback year for all small businesses who are the backbone of our economy. As per governor dictate i am not required to make customers wear masks. I wear one due ease any concerns of customers who believe the CDC hype. I will continue to wash and sanitize my hands frequently and use my 90% Alcohol/ peppermint oil spray on all surfaces I sanitize. Dont hesitate to ask of me to do more in that department. I am here to serve you. Stay safe and see y'all in January. God bless the U.S.A. and deliver us from those who wish to tyrannize us.

Howdy folks. I will be glad when this election is over. Although I predict that the president will be reelected unless the Democrats are successful and cheating and voting with every tactic known to help their failing effort. As a voter that has been watching the process for 43 years, We have never had a president who actually has done what he promised and amidst some extreme opposition to boot. It is rare to have a non professional politician In this high office. Donal...d Trump has the character qualities necessary for a leader.( strength and courage) He lacks tact and polish but is not weak and able to be pushed around by world leaders like our former presidents ever since Reagan. I love that he does not cower to the pressure of political correctness. One of my former customers , a retired liberal teacher said that we would be in WWIII within 6 months after Trump was elected. I told him that it will never happen. 4 yrs later I was proven right. If you are an educated person and are easily offended and think you are " Wiser than a hundred men that can render a reason" then you need to look for an ignorant barber to massage your ego and make you feel Important. I am always up for some intelligent discourse and can speak on a variety of topics. I spent 10 yrs in the boy scouts earning 24+ merit badges, then 3 yrs as a combat engineer in the U.S. Army learning how to build bridges or blow them up" then 4 intense years in bible college earning a bachelor's of divinity then a Bachelor's of Criminal Justice and Sociology from Texas Wesleyan University In Fort Worth, TX. After I moved to Ovid in 2006 ,I spent a couple years remodeling a 150 + year old farm house from foundation to roof. The last 30 yrs were spent working various jobs and helping my wife homeschool our 10 kids that I am very proud of. I am a blessed man with 4 grand kids and 1 more on the way. May God bless you all and have mercy on our fallen nation and keep us from a hostile socialist /totalitarian takeover. See more

Has anyone ever heard of "toxic masculinity"? It is a liberal feminist slander of the traits that come natural to men. They do not separate the bad masculine behavior from the good. It is a planned attack on men and the value system that was once prevalent in America. I began this profession by attending cosmetology school and getting a license in NY State. The barbering profession has been under attack by the media and corporations bent on capturing the market for cu...tting men's hair. A customer came in for a haircut today with his significant other and after the cut she remarked that he looks like Gibbs. The main character on N.C.I. S. a popular t.v. show. I have watched many episodes of the show and thought about how he is often mocked for his bad haircut, performed of course by a barber. Barbers do not get much positive press from the liberal Hollywood shows. Why? I propose that it stems from a bias against traditional roles of men and women that are slandered in higher education and the media. Barbers used to cut all hair . Men , women, and children. Barbers used to advertise "bob" haircuts for women. In the last 30 years corporate "chains" have moved in after the long hair era 60's to capitalize on the market for mens hair cuts. The overwhelming majority of their workers are women. Why do you suppose this is true? because women will work cheaper, are on their own with limited education and need a job. Since they are not dependent on a man to take care of them they look to a corporation to be their daddy. These corporations will hire women who do not even own a clipper let alone have any training in using them. In NY, Barbers used to have a monopoly on who can become a barber because the law stated that one has to apprentice under a barber to become one. That changed in 1996 where a person can get a master license fresh out of school and open their own shop. See more

I had a dream last night that reminded me of the stress a stylist goes through in negotiating with their employer. I had my Cosmetology licence in Nov 1989 and soon after had a job working under a master Barber with the intent on apprenticing to get a license. The state rules at the time forbade a person from getting a Barber license unless the were sponsored by an existing barber. The law was changed in 1996 to allow a person to test for a license after graduating from... a licensed barber school. I did not have that option. This NY policy was discriminatory against the profession of Barbering and paved the way for chain chop shops like Super-cuts to flourish by exploiting the labor of young women who were fresh out of beauty school and needing to gain some experience. Having been to Cosmetology school , I know that they do not teach traditional barbering and the use of clippers. Back to the original issue. My first job paid me only 50% of what I did. All the other sylists worked under the table and did not report their income to the Government. I was told by the master Barber that I would never make it if I did not lie to the government like he did. He was pocketing 50k a year illegally. This practice is rampant in the hair industry and hurts legitimate barbers who play by the rules. See more

I believe there is room in America for a chain of linked Barber shops that offer fast professional service at a reasonable price. No frills, shampoos, shaves or clipper art . one that focuses on the majority of average people who just want a fast cut done by a master barber. Not a beautician fresh out of school and with little experience. The only way to get predictable results is to codify a language based on science and not opinion. Then require all barbers to speak ...the same language and use visual aids to document a style that has been worked out with the client so a repeat cut can be done by any other master barber in the system. No use of numbers that are not actual measurements in metric or SAE scales. With the help of a rich financier , i could design a franchise that would serve mainstream America and make obsolete all the other wannabee chains. If a Barber cannot do a cut in 15 minutes or less they will not be employed. The profit from sales in store will go toward retirement and medical benefits for the Barbers. It would be the only career minded hair cutting shop that truly works for the Barber and not the corporate "owners" See more
