2020 had many challenges for all of us. Here is to a bright 2021! Happy New Year from all of us to all you! Please be safe and enjoy responsibly!

Fulton County Sheriff's Office 02.11.2020

Today is National Heroes Day 2020 has seen so many Heroes from health care workers, to scientists, to law enforcement to teachers to the people that keep us going every day on the roadways in gas stations in stores and in every aspect of life. The Government has attempted to define people into essential and non essential jobs.... I reject the label "non-essential". Because your job may be classified as "non-essential" by some elected official it is not "non-essential" to you or to your family to your boss and frankly to your mental health. So there are alot of Heroes in this Country those who are in professions that jeopardize their and their families health everyday because they choose to serve those most at risk and others who simply keep us going. Thank A Hero Remember they are all around us.

The huge Fall and Winter surge of CV19 that Dr.'s Fauci, Birx and the CDC has been predicting every week for 8 months has hit the State and Country. Continue to follow the universal precautions: Wear masks, social distance, wash and disinfect.... Build your immune system. If you are in any of the high risk categories (seniors, diabetics, copd, people with other auto-immune diseases) or have a family member or loved one who is stay home, self quarantine, order groceries in and limit contact. Basically use common sense. Those who die from CV19 are not just numbers they're someone's family or loved ones, please remember that. Those who are isolated need calls and need to know they're not forgotten Watch for signs of mental issues with yourself, family and friends. The Journal of the American Medical Association recently published a research paper that concluded 40% of Americans are experiencing symptoms of mental issues. These include sleeplessness, anxiety, over drinking, drug use, overdoses, suicidal ideation, attempted suicides and suicides at the extreme end. Don't drive yourself crazy. The majority of people who test CV19 positive have no or minimal symptoms and will fully recover. They don't tell you that enough. STAY SAFE

Mental Health issues are affecting up to 40% of people in the US due to CV19 and it's related restrictions and isolation. (JAMA). That's more people than cv19. The toll will be long term. Here are some tips. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=5174482465895162&id=100000003786851... Get help for yourself or someone you know if needed.

https://www.facebook.com/100000003786851/posts/5168536606489748/ Remember Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx have been saying a fall and winter spike will occur and double the number of positives and increase deaths. Also remember they have doubled testing in 4 months and with increased testing there will be increased positives. ... Also remember 99% recovery rate. Social distance, wear masks, disinfect and wash. Protect your older family members and those at risk.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 1, 2020 Contact: Renee L. Earl Regional Animal Shelter... (518) 725-5956 [email protected] Fulton County Regional SPCA teams up with Fulton County Sheriff’s Office for Don’t Shave December campaign Fulton County Sheriff’s Office employees help raise funds and awareness for SPCA. GLOVERSVILLE, NY Employees of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office to donate funds to the Fulton County Regional SPCA and in return they can grow and maintain facial hair for the month of December while at work when it is ordinarily not permitted. The Don’t Shave December campaign is a spin-off of the widely popular No Shave November. The Sheriff’s Office for the third year in a row has joined the No Shave November movement. They have donated over $4,000 in the past three years to St. Jude’s Research Hospital for Children. Investigator Deborah Humphrey, the lead investigator with most of the animal neglect and abuse cases for the Sheriff’s Office approached the Sheriff and Undersheriff and suggested that the Sheriff allow for Don’t Shave December with the funds supporting the Fulton County Regional SPCA, a local Organization in need of funds.. The Sheriff contacted me about the Don’t Shave December project. It was a no-brainer to say yes! Any time we can partner with a local organization to raise funds and awareness about our shelter, we are completely on board says Renee L. Earl, President of the SPCA. The Sheriff is a huge animal lover and supporter, and this opportunity is a great honor for us, Earl said. Sheriff Giardino credited Investigator Humphrey with suggesting this excellent project to a very worthwhile local cause. The Sheriff hopes to raise over $1,000 for the SPCA. As a donation funded animal shelter, we have been severely impacted financially by the COVID restrictions. We were forced to cancel our biggest fundraising event of the year, Woofstock, and we are sorely feeling the effects. We have had to think outside the box for new and creative, COVID compliant fundraising efforts, and the Sheriff Office idea is a fantastic one stated Earl. Regional Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter comprised of 50 strong-willed volunteers who are determined to make a difference in the lives of the animals in our care. Our mission is to engage the hearts, hands, and mind of the community to help animals. We provide immediate shelter and care for homeless or abused animals and either reunite these animals with their owners or find them new, loving homes. We will actively promote animal and owner education, training, and public awareness in hope that one day our services will not be needed. If you would like to donate to the Regional Animal Shelter in memory of one of your pets or to help, our address is: 117 West Fulton Street, Gloversville, New York, 12078. See more

Please share I have publicly stated that our friends and families in Fulton County are adults and are well aware of the risks involving cv19. They know to wear masks, social distance, disinfect and wash hands to protect themselves, their families and neighbors. They can make their own decisions about what's safest and best for their own families in their own home on Thanksgiving. The FCSO will not be doing house checks.... Their first priority should be their family and those high at risk like the parents, grandparents and those with diabetes, those who have other autoimmune diseases. Interestingly most be had already decided to modify their plans as needed prior to Governor's Order Dr. Fauci has said since March that cv19 will, I stress, will be back in the fall and winter with a huge spike. I'm telling you, like every other County in the Country we are going to see a rise in cv19. That's what doctors and research scientists have been saying for 8 months. On top of that many colleges have changed their prior policy which was to keep students at school. Now they are sending students back to their own homes. That will also encourage a spike. As for Fulton County there are those in Albany who want a spike so they can blame someone, accusing that person, who shall remain nameless, (guess who) for causing the spike. Remember Dr. Fauci has already told us it's coming. I think we should all continue to do the right thing, not because the Governor orders it, but because it is the right thing for our families and the community. Follow the rules help me prevent any spike in cv19, that will prevent the Governor from targeting Fulton County. These are confusing, sad and depressing times . We have to turn that around and make people feel better, less stressed and less confused. We all try to do the right thing but with such an unusual virulent flu it's easy to miss the mark. The intent while good may not match the result. Think forcing cv19 patient's into Nursing Homes.

Medical Experts, with some exceptions, recommend that due to CV19 you should continue to follow universal precautions as such as: * Cover you mouth and nose with an approved mask; * Social Distance by staying at least 6 feet away from others who are unmasked;... * Wash your hands frequently with warm water and soap or use disinfectant; * Stay away from large crowds. These rules and others can be found on the National CDC website and the NYS Governors Website. Keep in mind that those at the highest risk are the elderly, the morbidly overweight, those with autoimmune diseases, diabetes, COPD and heart disease among others. The vast majority of people who contract CV19 recover. Over 200,000 have died in the US, again most had pre-existing conditions and were at the highest risk.

FCSO together with both Saratoga and Washington County Sheriff's Offices have received numerous calls in reference to a huge explosion earlier this evening. At this time we do not have an answer. However many of you may recall a similar thing occurred last year in Saratoga.

Be careful. Have a safe weekend. The weather's going to be great. Driving or boating slow down the few seconds you hope to save aren't worth a lifetime of suffering. We will have extra DWI patrols out (the reason I let you know is we would rather prevent Dwi's and accidents than make arrests) and over the weekend the FCSO Boat Patrol will be out on the GSL, Canada Lake and Caroga Lake.... Be safe
