Ugh Do you ever hear church bells and think of the movies where children hang from the ropes? Well in the case of St Thomas Cathedral on 5th Ave you’re not far off! As a member of the building committee our principal Frederic Zonsius has volunteered his architectural services over the years in support of the community. During a recent visit we were given a behind the scenes look at this one-of-a-kind operation. The cables you see travel from the gong down through the bell tower, roof cavity, and to the keyboard. Still manually operated to this day! @ Saint Thomas Church

Proud to share a recent collaboration of Morton Williams Grocery Store located in The Colonial Building 1251 3rd Avenue. Grocery stores are a lifeline for NYC and we enjoyed creating a safe, functional, and beautiful space with @storeplanner and @studiobludesign. In honor of today’s Magnificent Jewels virtual auction by @christiesjewels we would like to congratulate @annahu_hautejoaillerie on the exquisite ‘Sky Tower Necklace’ piece designed with inspiration from @53w53. Isn’t this piece gorgeous? We here at FZAD had the pleasure of working personally with Anna Hu on the flagship store at The Park Plaza Hotel. And even took home the grand prize in the A.R.E. design award! @ FZAD Architecture + Design

Extremely proud to share a recent project we completed! Located within a landmarked building and originally constructed in 1892 by McKim, Mead & White for a prominent New York family, the space housed clubs until 1977 when converted to co-ops. Preserving our city’s history while meeting client’s desires is our specialty. @ Manhattan, New York

We recently checked in on a job along Fifth Ave and came across this Cutler Mail Chute from 1930! James Goold Cutler received US Patent in 1883 for the mail chute.
