Leonie just finished her her internship with Koelnmesse Inc. in Chicago and we would like to share her experiences and impressions. She stayed in the US during the lockdown... " I will always remember my time in Chicago. When I came here at the end of February, I had many plans and an internship to look forward to. I did really enjoy my internship but had to cancel all my plans and start working from home only two weeks after I arrived in the US. The Covid-19 pandemic made it... impossible to go on all the trips that I wanted to do, I could not even do anything in Chicago itself as everything was closed. That made the first few weeks really hard and I thought about going back home to Germany. I did however decide to stay and do not regret it one second. Not only did I get to do all the things that I had planned originally, I also learnt a lot about myself, how much I can endure and that giving up was not an option for me. I am very grateful for the time I got to spend in Chicago and would always return this city that I have really fallen in love with!" Thank you Leonie for sharing your thoughts and experiences with us. We are happy to see that you used this difficult time to grow and to make the best out of it. Last Thursday we joined some of our members for a Walk Awesome "NoHo & SoHo" tour. Felix Zeltner, journalist and co-founder of Walk Awesome led the tour - part live podcast, part walking tour with Bluetooth headphones and an equally awesome background play list! A highlight at the end of the tour featured a crafting session at CraftJam where we created our own personal key chains.

The Historic German House in Rochester, NY hosted the GACC NY on the forth stop of the roadshow. The event series "A Taste of Germany brought together the German-American community and businesses in the food & beverage industry where exhibiting companies presented their German portfolio to the public. The GACC team have one more stop to go: off to Albany!

The GACC NY stopped in Buffalo on Wednesday night for the third stop of the "A Taste of Germany" roadshow. The Schnitzel&Co restaurant welcomed over 120 attendees and provided a lovely space for the exhibitors and guests!

Pittsburgh, PA was the second stop of the event series "Taste of Germany organized by the GACC NY as part of the Wunderbar Together initiative. The exhibitors presented their popular samples at Teutonia Männerchor‘s Biergarten to 120 attendees from the German-American network in the region.

The GACC New York with its chapters in GACC Pittsburgh Chapter and GACC Philadelphia is organizing a truly unique foodie event, hitting the road with Germany’s favorite products! The culinary roadshow A Taste of Germany will take place from July 22-26, 2019 and stops in Bethlehem (PA), Pittsburgh (PA), Buffalo (NY), Rochester (NY) and Albany (NY), presenting German foods and beverages to a U.S. audience as part of the Wunderbar Together campaign.
