This is what’s happening a Gaslight Village today: Sunday-September 20, 2020. The ground crew is getting ready for a future music festival.
This is kind of an unusual and very special donation by Peter Stager. From July 1, 2011. It is a piece of clapboard from the entry to the Gaslight Village building when it was demolished. It had been saved in his own personal collection and formerly displayed in the restaurant in town named Gaslight. Donated to me today to display in memory of the park. Many thanks for the contribution to share with everyone Pete!!! It is very much appreciated!!!
We all remember what Gaslight Village used to look like back in the day from Route 9. This is what it looks like today on the property.
In honor of my Dad's birthday this coming month I am re-posting our home video to give him credit for it. Dad and Mom took this video back in the 1970's on one of MY annual birthday trips to StoryTown USA and Gaslight Village. It was always my birthday wish to go to Gaslight Village. The original video was altered later, (not by dad as he has no modern technology at his age) to have music added and was submitted to the production company that made the documentary Charles R.... Wood: A Storied Life. Clips from both parks can be seen in that film. The original film had no audio to it. So when you see this popping up all over YouTube and any other social media please send a big shout out to Paul and Betty Zito the official photographers. They did a wonderful job for all to enjoy. Love you both and Very Happy Birthday DAD!!! Love, Layla https://youtu.be/sn9mO3X__iY
Hello Gaslight and Waxlife alumni and fans. I just learned that Maude Cameron the artist that created all the wax figures for Gaslight and Waxlife passed away quietly August 1st in an assisted living home near her children in Erie, PA. She was 92. She and her wonderful husband Jerry ran Waxlife and Jerry filmed many of Ron Urbans Ice show reviews in the 1980s. They were also very instrumental to we skaters in our young lives keeping us on the straight and narrow!:) The first picture is the last time I saw Maude which is 7 years ago on my way to a Lake George reunion. I miss them both very much. here are a few pictures to celebrate her life
