Now through Mar. 13, the 2021 Nsedu Obot Witherspoon Youth Leadership Awards are open for nominations. Upon discovering that thousands await a transplant each day, the Daily Point of Light decided to user her voice to advocate for organ donations and thus launching Gift8Lives. Today, she has recruited over 200 new organ donors in her Troy, Mich.-community through her advocacy.

Reflecting on her own experience with wellness, Shruthi Aravindan decided to become an advocate to support global health and underserved communities. Launching Vitality Volunteers, the Daily Point of Light has been working with over 700 adults and youth volunteers in 45 countries to increase awareness of diseases and improve the well-being of global communities.

Noticing her grandfather’s growing gloom and isolation thousands of miles away, Aylin Tanriverdi decided to cheer him up with some music via Zoom. Furthering her efforts, the Daily Point of Light launched Musical Postcards for Seniors, recording hundreds of concerts for 760 nursing homes in 26 states.
