There is a kindness that dwells deep down in things; it presides everywhere, often in the places we least expect. The world can be harsh and negative, but if we... remain generous and patient, kindness inevitably reveals itself. Something deep in the human soul seems to depend on the presence of kindness; something instinctive in us expects it, and once we sense it we are able to trust and open ourselves. Covid has been here for 9+ months now....and winter is looming. Mental health issues related to our lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression and other mental health disorders. NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness has a 24-hour helpline: 800-950-6264. The relapse and overdose rate has increased by 30% since March 2020. I’m asking my small corner of FB to follow suit: Could any two of my Facebook friends just copy and repost to share the helpline far and wide? Just two. Any two. Say done.

Even amid the wonders of the present moment, it may be that you have a number of difficulties; but if you look deeply, you’ll see you still have maybe eighty pe...rcent positive things to be in touch with and enjoy. So don’t run. Come back to the present moment. By doing so, you cultivate concentration, and you’ll see things more deeply and clearly. That training is very simple but so important. - Thich Nhat Hanh Photo: Petros Koublis #Mindfulness #ThichNhatHanhGems
