TEACHING PHILOSOPHY My teaching philosophy is simple: I create a warm, inclusive training environment and give students the tools to help them get noticed. My studio is open to vocalists of all ages with all levels of experience, interested in any genre. I offer each student comprehensive knowledge of vocal technique in coordination with artistry of song. Balancing your physical instrument takes focus and practice and is the key to supple support and artistic singing. Through... my straightforward technique, I’ll help you build your breath and core muscular foundation, strengthening your voice for the demands of Broadway, opera and contemporary pop/rock stages. We will celebrate your vocal strengths wholeheartedly and work on the aspects that need attention. In addition to being a master technician, I am a passionate repertoire specialist. I’ll be glad to help you find wonderful songs appropriate to your vocal and theatrical type, while also satisfying your unique interests. In my voice studio, I draw from my own extensive experience as a performer. I’ve performed seven roles on the Broadway and National Tours of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera; served as a principal soloist with several major symphonies across the country, including Minnesota Orchestra and Rochester Symphony; graced some of the greatest concert halls, cabarets, and concert stages, including Carnegie Hall, Steinway Hall, and The Duplex. And rest assured that I’m continually studying voice myself to remain attuned to the latest developments in the craft.
