Breaking lent again bc today is Autism Awareness day and Autism acceptance day. The infinity symbol represents neurodiversity. My hope is that neurotypicals will embrace neurodiversity and see the value individuals with Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia have and bring to all!

Sunrise Speech and Language Services recently had a significant amount of calls from parents looking to supplement their children’s EI and CPSE services, in person and privately. I suspect this is from the past year of mostly telepractice service delivery model and school disruptions due to Covid19. I have started a waitlist, but hate not being able to help others when they come to us asking for it. Secondly, we provide services to many teens and adults diagnosed with ASD, m...ost of whom refer to themselves or identify as having HFA or Asperger Syndrome. Our clinicians here are exceptionally experienced in this area. We are also near full capacity, meaning we need another kind, knowledge, multi faceted team player who can work with our little ones as well as our older clients with different needs. This requires a broad skill set, knowledge about neurodiversity, and the ability to confidently work as past of a team, often communicating with our older client’s psychological team as well. We are looking for another independent contractor to provide in person services as well as remote services, based on the clients request. Sunrise Speech and Language Services has offices in Valley Stream and Huntington. Hours and or number of clients would vary based on need and client availability (could mean weeknights and or weekends).
