The snow is falling again! Here are a few winter updates: - The tubing hill is closed for the season. - The West Shelter parking lot, the parking lot at the Sleeping Lion trailhead and the main park road will be plowed. - The Beaver Pond and Covered Bridge trails will be snowmobile groomed. -The park office will be open weekdays from 7-3. Please call ahead during the holiday weeks as staffing is limited.

Fall is in the air

As of November 1st, the portable restroom will be removed from the Beaver Pond area. There will be NO bathrooms available at Glimmerglass this winter.

This morning Glimmerglass lifeguards and park management were awarded the 2020 Jim VanDeusen Cup for all their hard work and dedication to waterfront safety! Congratulations and thank you!

The concession stand and swimming area will close for the season on Monday, September 7! Until then they are open 11am-6:30 (7:00 for swimming) every day!

Last weekend Glimmerglass staff teamed up with first responders from Springfield and Cooperstown to perform rescue drills. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Check out the new storybook trail at Glimmerglass! Start at the Beaver Pond and follow the story of E. Bluebird as you walk along the trail. The Beaver Pond trail is approximately .5 miles of even terrain- great for the whole family!

This weekend is a free fishing weekend! During Free Fishing Days/Weekends, anyone can fish the fresh waters of New York State and no fishing license is required! Our current guidance is: -The park is operating at 50% capacity. -Keep social distancing in mind (be prepared to wear a mask if you cannot maintain 6 feet distance). -Keep beach blankets 10' apart. -No boat rentals at this time.... -No picnic tables at this time. -The concession stand is not open yet. -The bathrooms are open! -Swimming is open every day from 11am-7pm. The deep water sections will be open when lifeguard coverage allows. That said, the park is open , the beach is sunny and the water is refreshing! Enjoy this beautiful week!
