Global Strategy Group 09.06.2021

Global Strategy Group is excited to share the latest edition of our new, annual study of African American voters now in its second year intended to take the temperature of Black America on political issues, social attitudes, and voting behavior. Political actors have come and gone, yet very little has changed for too many Black Americans. If 2020 did nothing else, it outlined in stark relief the racial disparities Black people have been quietly enduring for decades. As ...a firm, GSG is committed to equity not only in hiring, staffing, and as an overall guiding principle, but also as it relates to developing public understanding of attitudes and opinions among communities of color. It is our intent with this research to give voice to Black Americans and deepen the awareness of the important role they play in our broader political discourse. https://globalstrategygroup.com//insights-2021-african-am/

The 100 day milestone has historically marked an opportunity to take stock of a new president’s tenure in office, their ability to deliver against campaign promises, and an assessment of their working relationship with Congress. More recently, it has also been a time to assess the new president’s relationship with a growing political force corporate America. At Trump’s 100, our Business & Politics research showed that this relationship was marked by division and uncertainty. We went back into the field to take a look at where things stand after Biden’s first 100 days. Read the report: https://globalstrategygroup.com//the-biden-administration/

In our latest Changemakers Q+A, we hear from Todd Jacobson, Senior Vice President of Social Responsibility at the NBA. Todd talks about the rapidly evolving relationships between business and society that have been accelerated by issues like the pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement and what it means for brands. Now more than ever companies must take time to reflect on their values and purpose, and think strategically about how they are going to engage on issues moving... forward. Authenticity has been at the core of the league's approach through its longstanding history of standing up for their values of equality, diversity, and inclusion - fostering an environment where players and coaches are encouraged to speak out proactively on issues close to them and use the power of the game to advocate for meaningful and sustainable change.
