From Castleton University Music Department: Due to recent campus closures related to the Covid-19 virus, Castleton’s Music Department is extending its online mu...sic audition window. Students that are interested in Music Education or Performance tracks should begin their application to Castleton University and record their audition and submit it through YouTube or a similar video sharing site. There is no cost for auditioning at Castleton University! All audition videos may be sent to Stephen Klepner, Director of Arts Recruiting through email at [email protected] Audition Requirements: Instrumental Two contrasting pieces of artistic merit. Examples of acceptable repertoire include movements from sonatas, concertos, etudes, technical studies, and jazz pieces with or without improvisation. Vocal The contrasting pieces must be chosen from two of the following: 1) an art song or aria, 2) an adaptation of a folk song, or spiritual or 3) a song from musical theater. The selections must be memorized and if possible should demonstrate two languages (including English).
