Today we say goodbye Adam. Cheers to new beginnings!
Quick update. See you in June!
We're hiring for two positions: education manger and lead bike mechanic. If bike education and championing active transportation excites you, please consider joining our team! https://gobikebuffalo.org/news/
The change in season brings big changes to our community workshop. Join us in congratulating Colin and Cindy as they embark on new adventures. Cindy will be moving into a planning position within the organization and Colin is going to become an expert bike mechanic at Tom’s! Stop by before the end of the month during any of our open hours to wish them well!
It’s been a heck of a year, and our workshop staff have risen to meet the challenges: with thousands more people riding, our shop staff have worked their tails ...off to build, sell, and fix bikes to meet the increasing demand. With limits on having people inside the workshop, we went out in the community to provide mobile repair and bike giveaways, and host outdoor safety workshops. We’ve been a community resource for over 10 years help us keep WNY rolling for years to come. Please become a member or donate today: http://bit.ly/GObikedonate See more
We just posted some freshly refurbished bikes and GObike merch on our site for all of your holiday shopping needs! https://gobike-buffalo.square.site/
Our community workshop will be closed for the holiday from Monday, December 21, to Sunday, January 3. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your continue...d support throughout this incredibly difficult year. Cheers to 2021: may it bring us all good fortune, many more multi-use trails, and bicycle blessings! See more
Happy Giving Tuesday! As a supporter of GObike, you know how special our workshop is to our community. Throughout the pandemic, our workshop has adapted and co...nnected with community partners to offer mobile repair, bike giveaways, and other services, like our annual Cranksgiving event. Mandated changes to workshop operations have continued to impact our ability to cover the operational costs of offering these programs and services. Will you support our workshop this #GivingTuesday?
We are excited to get back to doing what we do best! You can still schedule an appointment for a repair or buy a bike online, but now you can reserve time to use the tools and stands and stop by to shop.
We apologize for the short notice, but the community workshop will be closed today.
We may not be able to down a keg of Flying Bison Brewing Company at an afterparty this year, but there are still hungry people and Buffalo Food Not Bombs is still feeding them.
An interesting look at the beginnings of the U-lock.
We are so lucky to have such a wonderful community supporting us! If you are in the East Aurora area and have some old bikes that aren't being put to use consider dropping them off this Saturday at Kickstand Culture!
We have some refurbished bikes up for sale on our online store. More coming this Friday! https://gobike-buffalo.square.site/
As we come to the close of one of the most bizarre and challenging summers at our workshop we want to extend a big GObike thank you to all the friends, neighbors, and customers (new and returning) who continue to support our shop. Our hearts missed teaching, learning, and wrenching alongside you all and we look forward to the day we can do it again. Despite the uncertainty of the world, this summer we saw a tremendous increase in the number of people on bikes, and the number of bikes we were able to fix up and get back on the road. We are happy to know that this likely contributed to many smiles and awesome two wheeled adventures. The shop will be CLOSED from August 31-September 15 to give the four of us the chance to rest, reboot, and re imagine the road ahead!
It's up to both drivers and bicyclists to safely share the road. Join us on this webinar to discuss where cyclists and drivers are expected to be on the roadways, potential conflict scenarios between drivers and bicyclists, and more. The webinar is part of our Together, We Ride, campaign, focusing on encouraging safe interactions between all road users. Funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with a grant from the New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee. See Less
Look mom, we're in the paper!
We're going over the basics in our Intro to Biking Webinar.
If you think turn signals are right for you, give it a chance. You might be surprised by the results.
The four of us are taking some time to rest and recharge. We kindly ask that you refrain from dropping off any donations until we are back in the shop on Wednesday July 8th. Thank you for the overwhelming support!
Hey Folks, check us out tomorrow.
Meet Jennifer! She is a local activist, avid crafter, and devoted mother of three wonderful kids. Jen’s oldest child recently learned to ride a two-wheeler and, after seeing the excitement on her daughter’s face, Jen decided it was time to get herself a new bike to join the family fun. She picked up this versatile refurbished Univega from our community workshop’s online store! At GObike, we believe that active mobility makes people's lives better. A joyful ride with the family or a mind-clearing solo trip to the park can make a big difference during these times of social distance and uncertainty. Happy New Bike Day Jen! We hope your new-to-you Univega will make quarantine life a little better.
Cities across the country are closing streets and making more room for pedestrians and cyclists. Help us share this message with Buffalo.
