My Cute and Complicated Muzzle Mafia are some of the coolest pups I know. They are DEEP. Thinking #dogs. Apart from energy, I find that most of my #AnxiousDogs are also incredibly intelligent. It’s kind of like how really intelligent people tend to have higher anxiety because they’re always thinking. In fact, maybe our collective human #anxiety has risen because of the Internet and all the knowledge we’ve acquired as a result?! But I digress...

Batter up! Enya would like to give this catcher a kiss for their excellent taste in facial accessories. Only the coolest of the cool are in the #Muzzle Club [id: a stout, brindle bully-type breed wearing a black muzzle has her face angled up to a red statue of a baseball catcher; her person is next to her holding the leash]... . . . #DogTrainer #DogTraining #CPDTKA #MuzzleTraining #MuzzleUpProject #PositiveReinforcement #CuteAndComplicatedClub #GonzoDogNYC #ReactiveDogsUnite See more

How to Spice Up Kibble (to use as training treats)! Featuring my new @woofcultr shirt reminding you to ALWAYS BRING TREATS! (sorry it’s backwards.... me + social media = ) Proud to announce I’m now an ambassador for Woof Cultr’s amazing gear now because these slogans just embrace FF/R+ #DogTraining to perfection and everything I stand for as a trainer ... You can get 15% off now using my code GONZO15 Pro tip: you can ALWAYS (remember to) BRING TREATS if you get a pouch and HANG IT BY THE LEASH! Ok back to kibble! Here are three ways you can spice up your dog’s kibble to use as treats for training First, put the #kibble in a ziplock bag. Then... 1. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese in the bag and shake it up. 2. Chop up pieces of hot dog (or other meats or stinky cheese or fish/oil, etc) and shake it up. 3. Pour chicken broth into the bag of kibble and let it soak overnight for soft treats! Voila! Using kibble to train is a fantastic way to: watch calorie intake ditch the bowl reward lots and lots of behaviors How do you use your #dog’s meals and/or spice up their kibble?! Let me know in the comments below! [vid description: a red-headed woman wearing a black shirt with white letters saying Always Bring Treats backwards shows off her shirt; she raises a bag of kibble, then a container of Parmesan cheese and mimics pouring + shaking it up with the kibble; then she raises a package of hot dogs and mimics the same; finally she raises a container of chicken broth and mimics shaking it up again] : Spice Girls’ Spice Up Your Life #DogTrainer #CPDT #DogTrainingTips #SnackFeederNotPackLeader #AlwaysBringTreats #WoofCultr #ForceFreeTraining #PositiveDogTraining #GonzoDogNYC #CuteAndComplicatedClub

Put a Cue On It! When I first met @chickenthetherapydog a little over a year ago, taking things off was very low on Chicken’s list of enjoyable activities. This, potentially a result of being pinched or mishandled in the harness at some point in the past. Since we began focusing on this specific issue recently, we’ve not only identified a massage strategy that makes equipment coming off a more enjoyable experience, but we’re also putting it on cue with the caveat that sh...e can opt out! Just because dogs are smaller than us, does not give us the right to make them do things... even things we know they will enjoy later or appreciate once done. You’d be amazed at how much more willing #dogs are with doing things when we go slowly (teach from the ground up), make it a fun + rewarding experience, and GIVE THEM A CHOICE Forcing a dog to do something is all but guaranteed to make a negative experience even worse over time, but teaching a #dog to do something and rewarding them when they do make that choice? Well... as positive reinforcement dictates: behaviors that are properly reinforced are more like to repeat. As the old saying goes: You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink it. What you can do... is bring your lawn chairs and wait for that horse to get thirsty so you can reward the hell out of em when they do drink!! Even a little #patience goes a long way in #DogTraining A LOT of patience will take you FAR! Person Training says in, holding an oversized orange harness in one hand and luring the dog’s head into the harness with a treat. Then Person Training says out and the dog easily pulls her head back out of the harness on cue.] #DogTrainer #CPDTKA #ForceFreeTraining #PositiveDogTraining #CuteAndComplicatedClub #GonzoDogNYC #DogTrainingVideo #MuddyPawsPack
