As spring rolls around, we begin the most exciting part of the year - the baby season! The most exciting thing that exists for us is when a sky pup loses mom an...d the connecting of the baby back to the mother. Yesterday, we got an emergency call from Tel Aviv about a pup on the ground. Our volunteer immediately rushed over. Naturally, mommy bat was still circling in the air and not giving up on her baby for a moment! (They are A!mazing parents) Well, the entire experience was emotional and very exciting, as always. Don't try to do this yourselves !!! Our veteran volunteers are experienced at examining the puppy, catching mama Bat, checking she is healthy and produces enough milk for her babe and then releasing them, to fly free, as soon as possible. Please contact your local bat/wildlife shelter if ever you find an animal in need. Remember- bats are protected wildlife and should not be handled by anyone other than authorized wildlife carer.
