Good move by USCIS. Starting in January, we will replace the sticker that is currently issued to lawful permanent residents (LPRs) to extend the validity of their Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card (PRC or Green Card), with a revised Form I-797, Notice of Action. LPRs file Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, when their Green Cards expire or are about to expire. The revised Form I-797 notice will serve as a receipt notice for the Form I-90. When presented together with the Green Card, the revised Form I-797 notice will extend the Green Card’s validity for 12 months from the date on the front of the Green Card and will serve as temporary proof of the LPR’s status.

On Sept. 29, 2020, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, in Immigration Legal Resource Center et al., v. Wolf, et al., 20-cv-05883-JWS, preliminarily enjoined DHS from implementing or enforcing any part of the USCIS Fee Schedule and Changes to Certain Other Immigration Benefit Request Requirements rule. While the rule is preliminarily enjoined, we will continue to: Accept USCIS forms with the current editions and current fees; and ... Use the regulations and guidance currently in place to adjudicate applications and petitions. This includes accepting and adjudicating fee waiver requests as provided under Adjudicator's Field Manual (AFM) Chapters 10.9 and 10.10. See more
Looks like USCIS is going to make more of an effort to enforce the affidavit of support. https://www.uscis.gov//uscis-launches-sponsor-deeming-and-

Latest update from USCIS NYC: Priority going forward is to handle all de-scheduled matters. Office presently operating at 25% capacity to maintain social distancing. Hope to increase interview capacity after August 3. NY District Office will NOT shut down even if furloughs move forward.

https://lnkd.in/eJad4Ae "I will note the [Trump] administration has not formally requested supplementary funding for USCIS," Roybal-Allard said. "I do not understand why, but we do not wish to see a funding shortfall cripple this agency." You don't understand why? Really? Atleast someone is talking about avoiding #USCISApocalypse.
