A statement to the Granville Central School District from Superintendent Thomas McGurl regarding a positive COVID-19 test at Mary J. Tanner school: "The Granville CSD has been made aware of an individual in our Mary J. Tanner building that has tested positive for COVID 19. The individual was in school on 1/12 and received a positive test result on 1/14. The district has contacted the Washington County Department of Health and is working in conjunction with them to assist wit...h contact tracing," McGurl wrote. "As a result of the exposure and an unrelated staff shortage, the Mary J. Tanner building will be switching to remote learning on 1/15/21. This will permit the Department of Health to effectively conduct contact tracing. The county will contact any individuals who will be required to quarantine due to the exposure. Those that are identified are being informed that they must quarantine through 1/22/21. Staff should report to MJT as normal unless otherwise informed." From the National Weather Service Albany ...Light snow and slippery travel conditions developing thismorning... Periods of mainly light snow will overspread southern Vermont, the Berkshires, the southern Taconics and mid Hudson Valley, and Litchfield County in northwest Connecticut between 7 and 9 AM, and linger until late this morning. Snowfall amounts through late morning should generally remain under an inch. However, the light snow, combined with cold ground temperatures, will produce slippery travel conditions through this morning. Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution through this morning and remain alert for slippery travel conditions.
