However, due to the Covid crisis shutdown, it is now 9 months with no ability to generate income from programs or fundraise...rs! Greek Cultural Center presents "The Lady of Ro", a rare theatrical experience at Queens Theatre. The story is inspired by the life of Despina Achladioti, the Greek widow known as the Lady of Ro, after the deserted island where she took refuge during the two world wars. After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, the Lady of Ro became a hero and folk legend. Performed in Greek with English supertitles.

Meet a new member of the GCC/KEP extended family!!! Michelle Pucci Orosz and her theater company, Headwall Theatre Co, have been producing great plays at GCC/KEP since last year, with great success, often to sold-out performances. She loves our venue and has made us her artistic home. She always mentions the Greek Cultural Center in her interviews and we are very thankful. She is an amazing young woman, working, raising a toddler and yet finding time to create at least thr...ee theatrical productions per year, with the help of her husband John Orosz who is an expert lighting designer and a great dad, and with the amazing group of actors in her company. As a friend of mine who came to one of the performances said: "These actors are better than I have seen in many Broadway shows!"
