Greene County Historical Society 03.12.2020

As October approaches the Bronck Museum near Coxsackie, NY is pleased to announce that it is planning to hold its Heritage Craft Fair this Sunday, October 4th from Noon to 4. For safety’s sake the 2020 fair will be held as an entirely outdoor event. Stalls of local heritage crafters will be spread across the museum’s grounds, with attention paid to providing the proper distancing. Access to the grounds will be through a specific entrance and exit. Though this is an outdoor ev...ent face coverings are a requirement for admission and must be worn by everyone at all times while they are on museum grounds. Food and beverages will not be offered this year but restrooms will be available. Though changes to this popular event, of necessity, reflect the realities of a pandemic year. There are also some things that remain reassuringly eternal. There is still the serene beauty of autumn in the Hudson Valley. Trees showing the first blush of blazing fall color. There are cool nights and warm afternoons, falling acorns, jolly orange pumpkins, fresh picked apples, and the smell of wood smoke in the air. The venerable Bronck farmstead has seen the passing of 357 similar autumns. The rugged beauty of the ancient stone and brick walls dappled in the shade of century old oak trees, the red barns and red leaves remain as they always have, and once again provide a tranquil setting for the Heritage Craft Fair. The Bronck Museum is located just off US 9W 3.5 miles south of the intersection of US 9W, routes 81 and 385 near Coxsackie, NY. For the most up to date information visit gchistory.org, find us on Facebook at Greene County Historical Society or call the museum at 518-731-6490. This event is made possible in part with public funds provided by the Greene County Legislature thru its County Initiative Program administered by CREATE. Face coverings are required and social distancing must be observed. Admission to this event is free and open to the public.
