#WeeklyBookRecommendation: Untangled by Lisa Damour, Ph.D. In her New York Times best seller, Dr. Damour draws on decades of experience and the latest research to reveal the seven distinctand absolutely normaldevelopmental transitions that turn girls into grown-ups, including Parting with Childhood, Contending with Adult Authority, Entering the Romantic World, and Caring for Herself. Providing realistic scenarios and welcome advice on how to engage daughters in smart, cons...tructive ways, Untangled gives parents a broad framework for understanding their daughters while addressing their most common questions. At Green Meadow, high school becomes a newly multilayered exploration of subjects. Math skills are supported by musical education, classical art training is infused in our academic main-lesson books, and our students benefit from an education in which these are all interconnected. Congratulations to #GMWS alumnus Michael Berkowitz on his new TEDx talk! "How can we make our cities more resilient? Over the past decade, a new field has emerged called urban resilience. In this fascinating talk, Michael Berkowitz suggests that the key to building resilient cities starts with a shift in the way we approach risks and opportunities, in order to not think about these as separate things. Instead of a pandemic that requires pandemic solutions, or heat waves that... require heat wave solutions, Michael presents us with a blueprint for building resilient cities that starts by exploring the web of connected risks and opportunities. By focusing on interventions that address multiple challenges, we learn the ways that communities can reduce fragility and strengthen themselves to be better able to respond to whatever comes their way. SPEAKER BIO: Michael Berkowitz is a founding principal of Resilient Cities Catalyst, a new global non-profit helping cities and their partners tackle their toughest challenges. This talk was given at a #TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx."

#WorldHistory at Green Meadow begins in 5th grade when students learn about the Golden Age of Greece, the Persian Empire, and the meteoric rise of Alexander. The study of geography continues, as well, until students have studied all of the earth’s surface by 8th grade.
