Greenpac is proud to be a passionate supporter of essential front-line workers. Throughout the month of July, we have been donating healthy lunches with the help of Everyday Gourmet, a local catering service in the community. During the second half of the month, we were able to deliver 115 more lunches (totaling 515 meals!) On the 21st we went to visit the Niagara Community Missions where the lunches were distributed to 100 employees. On the 29th of July, we had our last lunch adventure, finishing strong with Niagara County Mercy Flight with lunches for 25 front-line staff.
Greenpac has continued helping to support the community during the current pandemic. Throughout the month of July we have been donating healthy lunches to essential workers with the help of Everyday Gourmet, a local catering business. We have organized lunches for almost 400 people so far! Beginning 7/2 at the Niagara Falls Fire Department, we were able to feed 40 essential workers. On 7/8 we held lunch for 300 people at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Last Friday we had the opportunity to visit the Niagara Falls Police Department and donate lunch for 50 people. We really appreciate the hard work and effort these folks are putting in for the health and safety of our community.
Greenpac Mill runs our paper machine 24/7 and because of this, there are times that we need to plan to shut the machine down to perform regular maintenance tasks in order to keep it running smoothly all the time. Normally we plan to have a shutdown about every six weeks. Different tasks require different amounts of time, but normal shutdowns are around 24 hours. We are currently in the midst of a planned four-day shutdown (that’s 96 hours!), a marathon of a task! Our employees are putting in long hours and working extra hard to make sure every task is done safely and efficiently. Each day we have been bringing in a food truck for lunch as a thanks for everyone’s efforts. Today we had The Cheesy Chick and everyone enjoyed some lunch together!
Greenpac Mill is proud to announce its first ever scholarship opportunities! Starting in the fall semester of 2020, we will be selecting two students from the community, and two students that are the son/daughter of one of our employees. The award will be $1000/year for a maximum of 4 years. For more information and to apply please visit: Greenpacmill.com/scholarship/
Did you know that Greenpac Mill was deemed an essential business during the NYS PAUSE? Our team has been running the mill 24/7 even in the wake of the novel coronavirus. to protect our workforce, we've input many modified safe practices, including social distancing, PPE, and rigorous cleaning procedures. Each person working at the mill deserves to be recognized for their continued hard work. Our work is essential to the supply-chain, and there are many people who are gratef...ul to us for continued business. Yesterday, we spent some time putting together care packages for all our employees. As a token of Greenpac’s gratitude to the people who, day and night, continue doing their jobs and contributing to this enormous and complicated process. They included masks, gloves, a stylus to be used for shared keypads, and even some Greenpac Mill hand sanitizer!
