Sometimes critters like to dig holes under the sculptures - which can undermine the structural integrity. Back in 2017, the sculpture repair crew got together and straighten up The King, who had developed quite a lean in one direction.

If you've seen the Bat Tower on the upper pond of the Mill Valley Road section of the park, here's an interesting, in-depth look at the amazing functionality of the sculpture. Very cool. https://inhabitat.com/bat-tower-in-griffis-sculpture-park-/

Hi everyone! One last chance purchase shirts in order to make it in time for Christmas! We'll be dropping shirts in the mail tomorrow and again on Monday...don't delay! $20 plus $5 shipping. Click the link below. The shirt is made of 60 percent cotton, 40 percent recycled polyester. It's a very nice shirt. The unisex and children's sizes run true to size. It's a great way to support the Park. http://griffispark.org/store/... The shirt uses a polyester fiber made from recycled content including plastic bottles. Compared to virgin fiber, this recycled poly consumes less petroleum, emits fewer greenhouse gases and conserves water and energy. The color dye used in the t-shirt is a cutting-edge technology that allows cotton to be dyed using up to 90% less water, 75% less energy and 95% fewer chemicals.

A few shots from yesterday morning. There were no filters used on these pics. It was foggy and overcast - which created a magical feel to a walk around the park. Happy New Year everyone! Lets stick together, be kind and spread love.

What a difference a few months makes...

We'll brighten up this gray winter day here in WNY, with a look back a few months ago. The "Ravens" sculpture looks over the lower portion of the park. "Ravens" was a collaborative sculpture created by Julie Silver and Ken Payne in 2001.

Wow! Thank you so very much for your incredible responses - we are working on logistics to keep the park open this winter for your snow shoeing and cross country skiing enjoyment! Our initial plans include plowing the driveway and parking lot on Friday and staying open for the weekends! We are also looking at highlighting a few special weekends throughout the winter - hot coco anyone?... This will be a trial run for us - so please be kind and provide us feedback!

Hello! We're judging some interest... If we were to open on select weekends in the upcoming months for snowshoeing, winter hiking and ungroomed cross-country skiing, would you be interested? You'd have to bring your own equipment.

Larry W Griffis was deployed to France as a nineteen your old in World War II. Larry fought in the Battle of the Bulge in the Ardennes forest. This was one of the bloodiest battles in US history. Larry was a mortar operator and earned the Bronze Star and the Silver Star for valor. We thank Larry and all veterans for their service.
