On our farm we produce A2 milk and over half of our herd carry the A2A2 gene. I’m sure you’ve seen those cartons of A2 milk on the grocery shelves and wondered what that milk is? Well what is A2 milk? In a glass of milk there are two forms of protein called casein and whey. The casein is what creates the difference between regular milk and A2 milk. There are two forms of casein in cows milk, A1 and A2 beta-casein. To have A2 milk, cows must only carry the A2 genes, not A1. So...me studies say that the A1 beta-casein is harder to digest for some people. So if regular milk bothers you, this might be good for you to try!While there have not been many studies to prove that A2 milk is superior to regular milk when it comes to those who have discomfort after drinking regular milk, it has shown to help. There is nothing different nutritionally about the milk, just that it is easier to digest for some. See more

My wi...fe and I own Half Full Dairy in Elbridge. With our two children and a wonderful team of employees, we milk 1800 cows at three locations in Onondaga and Cayuga counties. We’ve been involved with NEDPA for years and have benefited greatly from the resources, services and opportunities NEDPA provides. I’m really enjoying my time on the board and getting to work with such a talented and dedicated board and staff. I’m looking forward to continuing to work on the dairy industry's behalf in order to protect and preserve our dairy industry so that we can all continue farming in New York. See more
