Hamptons United Methodist Church in Southampton, N.Y., is seeking a part-time musician/music director to accompany and lead congregational singing during Sunday morning worship and other special services throughout the year. Responsibilities: Provide music support for weekly worship across a variety of genres including service music, Christian & gospel songs, traditional and contemporary hymns. Provide music during special services, especially during Lent-Easter and Adven...t-Christmas. Collaborate and communicate with the pastor and the worship team to create inspiring services for a diverse, multi-generational congregation. Honor the Christian faith and worship experience. Be available to play for funerals and weddings. Skills & Qualifications Proficient on piano/keyboard and/or organ; ability to perform as a soloist and/or lead congregational singing Highly collaborative work style and adapts to change easily. Ability to recruit and nurture others to share vocal and instrumental talents with the congregation in worship and other settings. Support the development of new musical groups, as appropriate. Familiarity with church music, especially the musical traditions of the United Methodist Church. Takes initiative in seeking ways to enhance the music program. Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable communicating via phone calls, text, email and video conferencing. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Honoring the saints: Drop by the church between 10 am & 1 pm to light a candle in honor of a loved one who has passed away in the last year. The sanctuary has been sanitized; please wear a mask and practice social distancing. Pastor Joanne will be available for prayer if you desire.

At two different times on this All Saints weekend, we will especially remember those who have died in the last year. Please call the church office to leave the name of your loved one who you would like to be included. We will also celebrate Holy Communion. On Friday, come to the sanctuary anytime between 10 am and 1 pm for a private time to pray and light a candle in honor of your loved one. Pastor Joanne will be available for prayer. We are following Covid-19 protocols, so please wear a mask. The sanctuary has been cleaned and sanitized for our use. On Sunday at 10 a.m., there will be another remembrance during our in-person worship service, which can also be viewed on Zoom. Face masks and social distancing are required.
