WAY TO GO, BRENNA! The Hancock Central School District congratulates 2020 graduate Brenna Gleim for helping the Division I Duquesne University women’s #bowling team to an NCAA Championship appearance this year! Brenna is a freshman bowler for the Dukes, who finished among the top 12 during the April 7-8 championships at AMF Pro Lanes in North Kansas City, Missouri.... In its fifth season as a women’s bowling program, Duquesne opened its first NCAA appearance with a 2-0 loss to Sacred Heart but followed with a 2-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan to advance to the second day of competition. Sacred Heart then eliminated Duquesne in a 2-1 thriller that came down to the final frames of a best-of-seven Baker match. The Dukes dropped the Game 7 of the Baker match, where teammates take turns bowling frames, 226-218. Brenna and the Dukes will continue their season April 16 at the ISC/ITC Sectionals at Poelking Lanes South in Dayton, Ohio. #WildcatPledge #WildcatPride #HoorayForBrenna Friends of Hancock, NY Hancock, New York Hancock Herald thedailystar.com pressconnects.com / Press & Sun-Bulletin News Around Hancock, NY Hancock Telephone Company Hancock Partners Fox Bowling Center Delaware-Chenango-Madison-Otsego BOCES Louise Adelia Read Memorial Library

LOOK AT THIS! Check out some of the terrific artwork our fifth- and sixth-graders produced last month! Grade 5 worked on group pop-art projects inspired by Keith Haring, learning how to use strong colors and simple lines to create their artwork.... Grade 6 focused on "Dragon Eyes," showing how to make different parts of art pop by using contrasting warm and cool colors. They also learned how to blend oil pastels for a smooth transition between colors. Thanks to Hancock Art Teacher Christi Jordan for sharing these pics. We look forward to seeing more in the near future! #WildcatPledge #WildcatPride

CELEBRATING SEUSS! Thanks to our awesome fifth- and sixth-graders for spending some quality time with our elementary kiddos in celebration of National Read Across America Day! Although this annual event typically takes place on Dr. Seuss' birthday (March 2), scheduling conflicts delayed our celebration until the end of the month.... Regardless, our littles had a great time reading, making snacks and creating crafts with their middle school buddies. Thanks to everyone who made this celebration possible, and happy belated birthday to Dr. Seuss! #WildcatPledge #WildcatPride #nationalreadacrossamericaday2021
