OTVFD Trunk or Treat Event Saturday, 10/31 2p-4p or until all the candy is gone, whichever comes first. Oswego Town Fire Station 640 Ct Rt 20 Rain or Shine... The Oswego Town VFD is excited to announce the first ever Halloween Trunk or Treat event at the fire station. We have planned a safe event adhering to all COVID safety guidelines. The ultimate goal of this event is to send the kids home with a good amount of treats while limiting the driving house to house by parents. Trick-or-treaters/ATTENDEES (Kids and at least one adult) Any families that come for the event will have to enter the Trunk or Treat through one designated entrance, sign in, and follow a designated path through the parking lot to assure an orderly flow of people and social distancing between groups. All participants (costumed or not and older than 2 years old) MUST BE MASKED. There will be hand sanitizer available at the entrance. Treats will be handed to the trick-or-treaters or placed in their bags. Vehicles/PARTICIPANTS (Community members, groups, businesses) We hope to get many vehicles/participants to come and make this a special day for kids in our area. Pre-registration of your decorated vehicle/trunk is required as there will be a limited number of spaces available and same day registrations will not be allowed. Everyone giving out treats can only use commercially prepackaged treats. No homemade treats can be used. Participants must wear a face covering during the entire event. Gloves and a limited number of tables will be available, if needed. All vehicles/participants must stay for the entire duration of the event due to safety concerns. Vehicles/Participants must arrive between 1:15 and 1:30 to park and setup and must be ready for the event at 2:00 p.m. Register at www.otvfd.com/boo2020 To make things even more fun, we will be awarding prizes at the end of the event for the top three, best-decorated vehicles. Families will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite vehicles so start planning your decorations today! We are sad to say that due to the restrictions of COVID-19 we are unable to open our station this year for Trick or Treaters. We would however like to mention a couple of great events that have been set up to ensure the children don’t miss out on this great tradition. Oswego Speedway is hosting an event as well as Oswego Town Volunteer Fire Department. Details will be posted for each event. Whatever you choose to do this year to celebrate Halloween please be safe!
