April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month. At Ontario County Humane Society, we passionately advocate for animal welfare. It’s our mission. When we’re not providing care to animals in critical need or finding forever homes, we’re educating the community about how to help animals live safe, happy, and healthy lives. Please watch to learn more.

S.O.S. PLACEMENT THIS ANIMAL IS NOT LOCATED AT OUR FACILITY. For more information, please contact Todd at (315) 536-1970 This little cutie is Sofie and she is looking for a new home. She is a 4.5 year old Jack Russell. Sofie is neutered, crate trained, and housebroken. Sofie is very high energy and could use a little help with her basic manners. Her favorite activities are car rides, fetch, and naps with her people. Sofie does well with adults of all ages but should be the on...ly pet at home. She does experience a little separation anxiety and would rather go with her person than be left home alone. For more information, please contact Todd at (315) 536-1970. Thank you!

According to PETA, black cats are two thirds less likely to be adopted. With Halloween quickly approaching and the reputation of black cats as an omen of bad luck well known (and unearned, frankly), we want to shine a spotlight on our feline friend Lewie. Can we find this cutie a forever home on National Black Cat Day? She’s an inquisitive young lady with lots of kitten energy who loves to play, snuggle and will acclimate well in most homes. Please visit ontariocountyhumanesociety.com to make an adoption appointment today.

Per granddaughter of the owner: I have a family member that was just diagnosed with leukemia, I have been going to her apartment daily to take care of her cat. Recently an infectious disease specialist told her she can not leave the hospital and return to a cat for infection risk reasons. Anyone looking to take in an older lap cat?! This cat is in Geneva and looking for a new home. Would you be the person looking for an older companion? The cat is not housed at the Shelter but we can get you in touch with her family. Thank you for looking.

This handsome little guy is Charles and he is looking for a new home. He is a 2yr old DSH Buff Tabby. He's neutered and microchipped. Vaccines expired in Feb. 2020. He's very playful, likes to play fetch, as long as he has scratching posts he wont mind the couch. He will nibble on plants. He likes cuddles on his own terms, but unfortunately DOES NOT like kids. He's a little shy with new people but after awhile he'll come up to them. Adults are ok, but NO little ones. If you are interested in Charles, please reach out to the Humane Society to be put in touch with his owner. Charlies is not being housed at the facility.
