It’s about time we connect the dots of all systemic oppression beginning with the Drug War. "This is not just any webinar, this is one that will educate you on connecting the dots and draw a map for you to visualize how systemic oppression is all connected from how the drug war infiltrates one's life. It starts off by acting like the laws in place are meant to help you, by offering shelters, child protection, hospitals with skeleton staffs who don’t want to get near people wh...o use, then as they unfold and you read the small print you begin to realize the laws are really like covid 19, it begins as a small cough, then possibly the flu , then death." - Dinah Ortiz "For far too long, we have played the part of being humble and trying to love a country that has shown little to no love for people of color. We will explore what this means and how it looks from the perspective of directly impacted individuals. We will hear their shared hurt and pain on Racism and the Drug War." - Robert Suarez https://register.gotowebinar.com/regis/6534840016759519757

Across the Southern Tier, a new coalition of community activists, known as the People’s Protection Coalition, is conducting protests this week that demand police accountability. In Delhi, protesters marched Thursday from Courthouse Square to the Delaware County jail. Protesters in Delhi gather in support of police accountability. (Jillian Forstadt/WSKG) According to protest organizer Paul Fontana, people in the jail are treated inhumanely. He said inmates suffering from subst...ance use disorders are treated with little compassion, and the jail’s medical system hurts instead of helps them. This is a medical problem that we are handling with a criminal system, said Fontana, who works with the Catskills Addiction Coalition and has dealt with substance use disorder. It’s wrong. It’s slavery.
