In Matthew 27:4-7 Judas returns the money he was given to betray Jesus. In vs 6 and 7 the money is taken and used to buy the potter's field because it was dirty money or blood money and keeping it was unlawful. Yet they were breaking their laws already in the proceedings leading to the Crucifixion. The trial and death, although murder is a better term, were conducted so unlawfully it boggles the mind.
