Last night we held our monthly meeting for December. Many noteworthy things occured at the meeting. First, we voted 2 members off of their probationary period, congratulations to Alex Jenks and Tyler Cirillo for becoming active members in good standing! Next we are very happy to announce the addition of 4 new members at one meeting! Bryan Smith, Mark Davis, Jake Beecher, and Chris Kushner have began their volunteer career at HVFC. They join another recent New Member, Adam Con...ley who was voted into membership last month! Then the open positions of Steward and Bingo Chairperson were filled by Tyler Cirillo and Carleen Baughman, respectfully. The Captains for 2021 were appointed by Chief Ames, they will be Fire Captains Andrew Jenks and Paul Baughman, and EMS Captain Rusty Ames. Finally, we made the tough decision to officially cancel the 2021 Installation Dinner due to COVID. Our elected officers will be installed on Facebook live on the day the Installation Dinner would have been. In place of the Installation Dinner we are planning a celebratory dinner in July for members of the Fire Company. As Chief of the Fire Company, I am very proud of all of the milestones listed above. Thank you all for stepping up to serve our community, especially during a global pandemic. See more

It has been a busy few days here at HVFC. Early Tuesday morning our engine crew provided standby coverage for Barker Fire while they were on scene of a barn fire. Wednesday night we were dispatched mutual aid to Barker for smoke in the building of a multi-residence structure. Finally, early this morning our engine crew responded mutual aid to Middleport for an apartment building fire. Thanks to our strong relationships with our neighboring fire companies, all of these incidents went smoothly. A thank you is warranted to all of the members that have responded to these incidents for a job well done. If this sounds like something you would like to be part of in the future, please call or message us, or stop down any Thursday night at 7pm!

Press Release - For Immediate Release - September 30, 2020: At approximately 23:24 hrs last night, September 29, 2020 Hartland Volunteer Fire Company was notified by Niagara County Sheriff's Department Communications Division of a reported structure fire at 2940 Drum Rd in the Town of Hartland. Initial reports stated a abandoned trailer home was on fire at the listed address. Per the first alarm assignment all of our equipment was dispatched to the scene, and Gasport's ladder... was placed on standby at their station. At 23:30 Chief Ames arrived on location to find a well involved trailer fire. At that time Chief Ames requested Hartland's second alarm be dispatched. The second alarm included Gasport's ladder to the scene, Medina's FAST team to the scene, an engine from Barker to the scene, an engine and a rescue from Middleport to the scene, Niagara County Origin and Cause to the scene, Tri-Town 1 ambulance to the scene, Mercy EMS 1 ambulance to the scene, and Ridgeway 1 engine to our station to standby. After confirming there were no occupants inside the structure Chief Ames determined this would be a defensive fire attack only. At that time Mercy EMS, Medina FAST, Gasport's ladder, Middleport's rescue, and Barker's engine were all cancelled and returned to service. Hartland equipment and manpower, 1 engine from Middleport, and 1 ambulance from Tri-Town were on scene. After an hour the fire was declared out, with no extension to any exposure. Units remained on scene assisting Niagara County Origin and Cause Team with their investigation. Later Ridgeway was released from standby and Middleport and Tri-Town were also released from the scene. Hartland would like to thank all of the listed mutual aid partners as well as Niagara County Sheriff's Deputy and Communications, Middleport Police, Niagara County Office of Emergency Management, and National Grid for all of their assistance last night. The fire is under investigation at this time.
