CLASS OF 1950 Judy Maitland Brooks Judy A. Brooks, 68, Henderson, passed away January 1st, 2019 at the Samaritan Medical Center, Watertown.... Per her wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be for the convenience of the family following cremation. Judy was born September 8, 1950 in Henderson, a daughter to Lawrence and Bessie Woodard Maitland. She graduated from Henderson Central School and attended Jefferson Community College. She married Robert Brooks July 1980, he passed away December 21, 2005. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Butch and Cathy Maitland, Watertown; her cousins, Sally Parker, AZ, Eunice (Lew) Westcott, Henderson Harbor and Kay (Keith) Hunter, Rochester; several nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend Jan Johnson, Adams Center. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Frank Ross. Judy worked as a cook for many years for several restaurants in the area. She enjoyed her cats, crossword puzzles and reading. Memorial donations may be made to the Henderson Volunteer Rescue Squad, Henderson, NY 13650. CLASS OF 1947 BEVERLY HILL CHAMPLIN On Friday January 5, 2018 Beverly H. Champlin passed away at the age of 88. Beverly was residing in the Village of St Edwards memory care and nursing home in Fairlawn, Ohio where she moved to from Watertown, NY in March of 2017. Beverly will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Roger (Patricia) (Copley, OH), Richard (Dayton, OH), Melody Brenon (Watertown, NY) and Marie Fuhrken (Sparks, NV). Beverly has 12 grandchildren & 20 great gr...andchildren and her love for these children could always be seen in that special smile, when the kids were around her. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Augustus in August of 2015. They were celebrating 67 years of marriage that year. Beverly graduated from Henderson High school in 1947. Mom will always be remembered for her unselfish caring for her husband and family. Mom always enjoyed packing the family camping gear and heading out for summer weekends in the surrounding New York State Parks. Beverly worked as the bookkeeper for the Gus Champlin Fence Construction Co for the many years that the family business was in operation. Beverly was a member of the Henderson Historical Society where she assisted in activities. A Mass of Christian Burial officiated by Fr. Jonas will be celebrated in memory of Beverly on Monday May 7, 2018 @10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 320 W Lynde St. Watertown, NY 13601. The family welcomes friends to attend the service and a luncheon reception at the Italian American Club (Bellew Ave) following burial at Glenwood Cemetery. See more
